Yes. There is a down-loadable and printable rail trail map and a mileage table on this website. You can find the Map & Mileage Calculator (https://www.elkrivertrail.org/trails)in the resources sections on the trail pages. The rail trail map also shows some of the DNR-operated water access points. The Foundation plans to create another downloadable map showing all the public water access sites. All the 30+ public access sites, both publicly-owned and those where access is permitted by private owners, are shown on the water trail tab on this website.
There are concrete posts with a number on them on the river side of the trail that serve as mileage markers. They are the original or replacements of the original railroad mileage markers. The numbers are the same as those originally used by the railroad companies (mile 0 was the end of the line near Burnsville). The printable mileage and distance table at the bottom of the page on the Trails page shows the Railroad Milepost Markers on Trail at each trailhead. The milepost at the Gassaway Trailhead is 21.8. The next trailhead downriver is Frametown at milepost 30.9. If you are at milepost 25, you know you are about three miles from the Gassaway Trailhead and almost six miles from the Frametown Trailhead. The mileage number increases as you go down river.
