Location Description
Located across the Strange Creek Bridge from Route 4 in Braxton County. Legend has it that the skeleton of William Strange, for whom the creek is named, was found on a ridge at the foot of a large beech tree upon which his name had been cut with the following words: “Strange is my name, and I’m on strange ground, And strange it is that I can’t be found.” (WV Explorer, author David Sibray 1.19.22)

Directions From I-79
From I-79 exit 46 (Servia Road) (5.3 miles). Head southeast on Servia Road - 2.5 mi. Turn left onto WV-4 N - 2.8 mi. Turn right onto Strange Creek Rd and cross bridge - 387 ft. Parking is on left at end of bridge.
From I-79 exit 51 (Frametown) (4.8 miles): Head south on WV-4 S - 4.7 mi. Turn left onto Strange Creek Rd and cross bridge - 387 ft. Parking is on left at end of bridge.
