Location Description

Located on State Route 16 under the Jones Brothers Memorial Bridge named in honor of Ozro, Johnie, Burman, Eugene and Lawson Jones, brothers who grew up in Hartland and served in the Army during World War II. Burman, Ozro, and Johnie were killed in action. From here, you can ride 45.4 miles in one direction to Gassaway.

Parking & Features

Parking available on dirt/gravel lot for vehicles but not ideal for horse trailers. DNR’s Hartland Public River Access is also at this location.

Directions From I-79

From I-79 exit 34 (Wallback/Clay) (15.6 miles): Head east on WV-36 S. - 7.5 mi. Turn left onto WV-4 N - 2.5 mi. Turn right onto WV-16 S/Main St and follow WV-16 S - 5.6 mi. Turn sharp left at the end of the bridge. The trailhead is basically under the bridge and shares parking with the DNR boat launch.
