Location Description
Owned and operated by WV Division of Natural Resources. Elkhurst DNR Access 2 is an old county road that once forded the river. This access is not developed, is steep and brushy and should only be used in the event of an emergency takeout until development can occur. This is the second in a series of 4 takeouts owned by the WVDNR as part of the Wallback Public Hunting Area adjoining the river’s edge. Blue paint on trees indicates WVDNR owned land.

Directions From I-79
From I-79 exit 34 (Wallback/Clay) (22.1 miles): Turn right on WV-36 S. - 7.5 mi. Turn left onto WV-4 N - 2.5 mi. Turn right onto WV-16 S/Main St and follow WV-16 S - 5.5 mi., passing through the Town of Clay. Before crossing the Jones Brothers Memorial Bridge, turn right on Elkhurst Road, County Route 22/1, and continue for 6.5 miles. Watch for small sign nailed to a tree.
